The Danbury Brass Band is a 19-24 piece world-class ensemble made up of the very best brass players from the area (Fairfield, Westchester counties) and a few from outside the area (New Zealand, Houston, Brooklyn...).
Its members have been associated with such professional orchestras as the New York Philharmonic, American Symphony,  American Ballet Theatre, Broadway shows, NYC Recording studios...  Many of the players are professional musicians, high school music teachers,  computer analysts and a student or two.

The band plays its own music exclusively.  Music especially composed and/or arranged for it by some of its members and some prominent composer-arrangers. A typical program might include an original overture, a show medley, some solos, ethnic music, a request or two  and jazz.

The players are unpaid and enjoy rehearsing and performing the ensemble's music... it's a labor of love.  A Danbury Brass Performance is special and unique for players and audiences alike!

ALAN RAPH is the music director/conductor of the Danbury Brass Band.  His background  is that of a full time professional musician, first call for most NYC recording studios, and with such credits as Wynton Marsalis, Gerry Mulligan, Leopold Stokowski, Broadway and TV shows including (Bill Cosby, Sesame Street, Name That Tune, Letterman, Conan O'Brien etc.)  Alan Raph's career spans many decades and is still active as a player with Philip Glass's recordings and John Pizzarelli's big band.
